Mini Sites And Authority Sites- Choosing The Right Model For You
Which is best for you, the authority website or the mini site? Well, like everything else there are pros and cons to each one. Keep in mind that there is no rule that states you must choose only one. Each of them offers a few unique benefits. Ultimately, you must decide which of the two you prefer if you aren’t interested in doing both. Before you make a decision however, it’s a good idea to learn a little more about your options. You’ll need this information in order to make a decision that is informed.
If you want to build a single mini site, or an army of them, then be sure to base them on keyword phrases that have as little competition as possible. Minisites have their specific purpose for being, and you just have to discover how to use them profitably. So what you want to do is plan and research very well. Then, choose your keywords so that you have as much going for you as possible. It is possible to rank a minisite very highly for very narrow terms. It’s generally understood by many Internet marketers that there are plenty of good reasons to create authority websites. It just seems to be the trend that is being forced by Google. But there are also plenty of other benefits for the bigger sites with regards to marketing as well as SEO. The larger sites allow more scope for creating backlinks, which makes it easier to rank well. Also think that you will eventually get voluntarily backlinked “to” by other sites if you have a good authority site.
Another advantage with authority sites is the ability to rank for various other keyword phrases. It’s very possible that your site will start ranking for keywords that are synonyms of your chosen keywords. You can then exploit those new key-phrases to improve your rankings even further. Analyze the stats for those synonyms, but also try to determine whether you can expand on them to create other keyword phrases to help your rankings. Many established websites will find this happening to their own rankings over time. However, this phenomenon does take time to appear.
We really can’t give you any definitive answer about whether authority sites or mini sites are best. Since they are not designed for the same reasons, a direct comparison isn’t really helpful. While you can find certain similarities, these don’t compare to the fundamental differences.
Rather than ask which is better, ask yourself which makes more sense for you. It all depends on what you’re more comfortable with, as you’re the one who has to build and maintain the site. Authority sites can help you build a sustainable business, but mini sites can be good if you have a specific product to promote.
