What kind of camera would you recommend in terms of 35 mm? ?
Im going to be taking a basic film and photography class at my college and i was wondering if anyone could recommend a certain brand or model that would be suitable for this class and my own enjoyment. I do digital photography now so i know a few things about taking pictures and such. I own a canon power shot S5IS.
I would look into the idea of getting something that “might” have a fair amount of carry over into the digital world and that would be a Nikon body. A FM body or even a F body would be excellent. A F2 maybe as well, but would cost more.. The F3 had a few automatic settings as well as many of their N series cameras.
I only suggest Nikon because the lens mounts are the same and many manual lenses can be used on their digital bodies and many of their D lenses will work on older film bodies, just in manual mode, no auto focus of course..
Canon, while excellent, will not allow this because the older bodies use the FD mount and it is discontinued and they have gone to the EOS mount, and this mount is now on all D-SLR’s from Canon.
Nikon’s F mount has been around for over 50 years and is in use today on ALL their SLR and D-SLR cameras.
