Short Reviews Of 3 Pocket Size Cameras

Thinking of buying a digital camera for yourself or maybe for someone? Have you decided upon the particular brand and model? Several of the best sought after brand names include Canon digital cameras, Sony digital cameras and Kodak digital cameras. You’ll also have to decide on the category of camera you’re looking for – SLR, DSLR or just portable pocket size camera. In this article we’ll be talking about the latter.

Of all the camera makers, there are some that always seem to stand out. Most of these are companies that have been around for some time so they have the resources and experience to study ways to advance digital photography.

While there is a huge supply of feature rich digital cameras to choose from, there is no apparent decrease in demand either, which means that the consumer benefits from the companies trying to outdo each other. The following cameras may be just what you’re looking for.

Our first review is of the pespectable Fujifilm FinePix F80EXR. One of it’s appealing features is the mega zoom feature. The 12 megapixels of this camera mean you can create clear, large prints. And considering its advanced functions, it is a reasonably priced camera. You can choose between three modes of EXR. This essentially gives you three types in one camera. The three modes are highest resolution mode, optimum dynamic range mode, and lowest possible noise mode. But the most impressive feature is the F80EXR can also analyze the scene and make the best selection for you to ensure the best picture possible.

Next we’ll move to something different, it’s the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 which is truly built for the outdoors.

Because it can withstand going just beyond 30 feet underwater, this is a waterproof camera. This is an ultra-compact, truly pocket size camera that is what its name suggests, tough and rugged. It has the standard LCD display, zoom, and built in flash, and has 14 megapixels of resolution, which can be considered overkill. The main market for this camera is those who want a camera that can withstand some abuse from the elements because they love the rugged outdoors. This camera is also designed to take a six foot drop, in addition to being waterproof. This camera is also supposed to freeze and crush proof. How’s that for Tough?

Now, let’s look at the Canon PowerShot S95, which is good for those who like to work with their hands as it has lots of manual features. Plus the photos produced from this little gem are certainly worthy of note, too. This camera is ultra compact and comes with a multimedia card, SD memory card, and a 3 inch LCD, as well as having a more reasonable 10 megapixel resolution. It use the pop-up variety of flash. A lot of this camera’s great features were left over for the S90 model. One good piece of news is the video resolution is greater in the PowerShot S95 improving to 720p. The newer version also allows you to capture up to three photos at different intervals of exposure. The camera uses these captured photos to give you one photo with more detail in all respects.

Far too many terrific digital pocket size cameras with so many fabulous features, don’t you think? Many of these models are follow ups to correct shortcomings that didn’t get noticed until after production. But that is fine with many people, and us, as well. When looking for a ultra compact camera, keep in mind that people have various uses for their cameras.
