Online Career Advice by J Mueller
Most people think of their dream job as being able to do what you love and getting paid for it. For some, this is reality and no longer a dream. How can you take your passion and turn it into a job? Well, it’s not easy, but with some dedication and perseverance, you can do it.
First, sit down and decide what your passion is. Perhaps you love to write, or cook, or rebuild cars. Once you have decided what would be the best thing to do for a job, start to do some research. Check out the local want ads of smaller papers in your area. These papers are a good place to get ideas. They charge less for their Advertising, so smaller businesses and services will advertise there. The ads from the smaller companies and home businesses will give you some ideas of how other people have created dream jobs from their passion. For instance; say you love to cook. Seeing ads for catering businesses will motivate you and get you thinking about your own venture.
Another important part of the search is to network with people in you community. Approach the local business and organizations that are related to what you want to do and leave a calling card. This will get your name out there and as everyone has heard before, word of mouth is the best of advertisement.
One more idea is to check into your local community colleges. Many colleges offer continuing education courses in everything from digital photography to Japanese cooking. These types of classes are short – usually only a couple of classes – and are reoccurring when there is enough interest. If the college does not offer a course in your expertise, you can solicit the school to teach a class yourself. Again, this an excellent way to get your name out there and looks really good on a resume. For more information about pay-per-minute online consultation visit: lifestylerescue.com.
