Why Does Everyone Think They Are A Photographer?

I see it constantly on facebook and myspace, chicks that take weird angled photos and edit them somehow (usually fairly poorly) to look different. The least they could do is follow a real tutorial on how to make it look like something cool like Lomo Photography, HDR effect, etc etc;. or they take pictures of their family/friends, again poorly angled in an attempt to look artistic, or they simply have poor lighting. Just, why do all these chicks think they are freaking photographers, most of them are 16, SAHM’s, or morbidly obese. I don’t care if you’ve got a nice camera, took a few classes, or even read about photography online, you’ve either got natural raw talent, or YEARS of experience, and if either of those are true, its visible in your work…not the work i’m seeing on facebook or myspace. What burns me up even more is there are people telling them the pics are actually “pretty” or whatever. GOOD GRIEF, are people blind?

Commercialized cameras for the public.

Watch the commercials. Cameras so smart anyone can take a picture.

Also, these are people who are less concerned with the technical aspects of photography, and what professional photographers think about their edits….

and more concerned with the basic general pose, facial expression, and how they look in the angle, what edits they think are cool.

Art is art. i dont care if its professional or amature, something a professional would say is good, or something only a mom would say is good.

Either give them real advice, or move on.

I used to post in the photography section here. It was before i learned some of the technical stuff, and hoestly, im still not a brillaint photographer. But all they did was just pull crap apart and talk about how crappy and sh*tty it was.

Ok, fine, its not great. But maybe instead of hounding me, you could tell me what I need to do??

Also, I am quite abstract, so that sometimes goes against me.
For instance, i have a picture that by technical aspects, sucks like hell. But i caught a really cool glare/flair between the sun and the lens, and I think it looks awesome. I know its not technically right. But I still like it.

I posted it, and all people could do was tell me how much of a mistake i had made, and that i should be doing this and that to not get those flairs.

Screw you, its my art. Tell me how to get this type of flair and have the rest of the picture still look kinda cool.

Remember, most people are going after snap shots. It is pretty, for a snap shot, in a lot of cases.
