A-Level Photography? OPINIONS PLEASE!?
I’m trying to choose my last a-level. As I am taking some rather hard a-levels they have advised me to take a recreational one. My current choices for a-levels are Biology, Chemistry, Religious Studies and Geography. I would only take photography up to AS level. Photography is an interest outside of school too for myself.
Opinions from students and anyone else please!
Many Thankss:)
Well, I understand there is a lot of theory involved; although, i’m not too bothered about that, I think recreational was the wrong word to put, i think a less academic one is the right way of phrasing it aha:)
I’ve found with studies over the years that if the subject is one you’re interested in, then that’s a bonus!
If photography’s a hobby & you’re not already familiar with the technical, historical or ‘arty’ side of it, then I think an AS level would be good – it’ll hone your skills and provide a little ‘light relief’ from the more heavier subjects (I did A level Biology & Chemistry – you’ll want some relief, lol!).
I think you’d then have quite a mix of Arts, Humanities & Science subjects and if you’re not sure what field you may be going into (and, lets face it, in these rather uncertain employment times) it will be good to have a range of skills/knowledge.
Unless there’s another subject you haven’t mentioned competing for that last place, I’d go Photography!
