Taking Family Photos With Pets

Everyone loves shooting their pets, proof is the fact that after children they are the most popular subject for photography. Your pets can be photographed perfectly by following these tips. A longer telephoto lens of 80 to 200mm size is appropriate for shooting pets and offers ease of use compared to standard lenses.

A telephoto lens can be used to click a pet from far away so as not to scare him off. A pet would act his natural best if it is unaware of what is being done by you. When one is down on a pet’s level, he would get a good picture. For most pets are smaller than us, this photography is achievable only by getting down on our hands and knees. But the results will be worth it particularly if you can get your pet to look straight into the lens. At custom pet painting you’ll find more expert resources on paintings.

TO get a picture of your pet you must be ready and quick. The exposure must be pre-set and the pet already on focus in order to be ready to click the picture. Refocusing or resetting the metering shouldn’t be done.

Getting the right exposure while shooting pets is easy. This is easy to achieve by using the camera on auto mode or using a light meter to set the exposure. If, however, you own a very dark or a white animal, you should bracket.

When clicking a white pet, take the meter reading, and then open up one or two f stops after that. To bring out the actual dark shades of a darker pet, use a lower f stop. Thanks for reading about paintings, further tips and resources are found on unique pet portraits.

Pre focusing is very important but to know where the focus needs to be is a very simple thing. Nobody would notice any out of focus parts of a pet photo is the eyes of the pet are in focus. If, however, the eye is out of focus, the picture will not be appealing.

If the pet has dark fur or feather surrounding the dark eye, then we can click the highlight in the eye. Switching on a light or turning the pet’s face towards the sun can achieve this. A good pet photo involves taking special care of the background. Try and position your pet in front of a plain background. Using a simpler background will help keep the pet in limelight.

Finally, it may be helpful to have a friend around when you’re taking your pet’s picture. When your friend has your pet distracted is when you can get good pictures. This method can be used to click a pet that is curious about what you are doing. Using these tips would result in perfect pictures of your pet, just remember to be patient.
