Photos Of Horses And Things

There are horse lovers who won’t believe anything other than that their horse is the best in the world, according to a lady artist from Walla Walla. Owners don’t care if their horses place or not. She has turned their love into a successful business, and you can find her at her ranch on Springdale Road. She can be commissioned to either paint or photograph horses. Though most of her clients are horse lovers, she has been commissioned to paint famous horses, like one famous actor’s championship endurance mount, Shur Raff Zi.

It is as much work as it is play for this artist. From her teen years on, she loved the subject of horses. At age 11, she began drawing pictures of horses, and she worked on her sketches for quite a time. Her uncanny ability to capture the reality of a horse can be attributed to her early drawing experiences. The canvas gives her a place to record the uniqueness of each horse. This article on paintings is brought to you by horse portrait commissions.

She works with photographs of the subject. Unless you count quick notes, she never sketches on site. An accurate portrayal of their horses is often required by patrons. Peculiarities might be a certain angle or special mark that must be included.

From facial expressions to wrinkles and cowlicks, owners know much more than the artist. It isn’t about getting the best shot of their horses, as much as it is about getting the reality of what their horses look like. Her pictures cover almost every breed and event, even barrel racing and cutting.

When capturing a horse in action, there are other considerations. When a horse is cantering, it is important to capture the best angle, or it can look awkward. A telephoto lens can make any horse in action look good. During her horse show heyday, she covered anywhere between 15 18 shows a year. Thanks for reading about paintings, and get even more articles at creating oil paintings from photos.

For some shows she would take photos of the winners, which she would turn into paintings later as prizes. Full time horse show work may require instant picture development, which some photographers take care of with dark rooms in their vans. On the other hand, this artist prefers her own dark room back home.

She does a small number of portraits of other family pets. Dogs and cats are not her expertise, and she either needs to see them in person or a good photo.

Her imagination is ill equipped to give her a good picture of them.
