Sports Photography vs. Photographing Models?
1) which is a better pay
2) which is more fun?
3) do you travel more if you are interested in sports over models (or vise-versa) ?
4) or is still life or plants or city more fun to take pictures of?
5) whats your opinion?
I have an opinion, but nothing else.
There are so many people doing sports, doing it well, traveling all kinds of great places, and making great money. Likewise with models (I assume you are talking about fashion). The key is, the people who are really good are earning top dollar. And they are good because they have a REAL passion for what they do.
In photography it’s about passion — people will see your passion in your photos. Whatever is more fun for you will be your greatest chance of success.
So:
1. Which is better pay? Neither, and both. There are people struggling to make money in both fields, and people naming their price in both fields.
2. Which is more fun? Honestly, I may sound like a crazy person, but I love weddings and bridal photography. Of the two, I’d probably prefer fashion.
3. Do you travel more, etc.? Basically same as No. 1. There are people who can get their way paid anywhere in the world, Olympics, fashion shoot in Bolivia, whatever. You just have to be really good.
4. Still life? Plants? Like I said, I love weddings.
5. That’s my opinion, but if you are trying to decide where to go with your photography, your opinion is the only opinion that matters.
