amatuer wedding photography question?
I took pictures for my friends wedding with my Canon Rebel EOS Xsi. I was shooting with RAW. I edited the pictures woth Lightroom 3 and now I want to burn the images onto a CD so my friends can choose the ones they want and get them printed. It’s asking me what I want to set the Resolution as. By default it has 240 pixels per inch, should I make that larger? Im really stumped on what to do. Because if I make it 500 PPI would some of the images look pixelated? Idk im confused. HELP please!
It makes no difference. Remember, you are NOT, or SHOULD NOT be resizing the photo. That would be the only time when changing the resolution number would have an affect on the photo. The output resolution is just a reference number. So long as you do not have any kind of resizing function applied, the physical size of the photo remains the same. You can set the resolution to 300 if you want, as this is the typical number used by all printing services, but it will not hurt a thing to leave it at 240 if you want.
